LATE WORK is highly discouraged and will incur a 25 point penalty for every day it is late. Due dates are given and enough time is given to complete all work. NO EXCEPTIONS.
~
Academic Policies:
Academic dishonesty will result in a zero on any academic work or exam in question; a second incidence of academic dishonesty on any academic work or exam in question will be handled based on campus policies and procedures with the department chair. This could result in the student being given an "F" for the course.
~
Exams: You must work alone while taking the exam. Cheating on exams is not acceptable and will be subject to violations of the Academic Dishonesty policy.
NO MAKE-UP EXAMS. If a student should miss an exam, at the end of the semester, the instructor will average all exam grades [including the zero(s)] to replace the zero for the missed exam.
EXAMPLE: 4 test grades: 100, 100, 0, 80 = 280; 280/4= 70; 70 will go in the place of the zero.; Test grades are now 100, 100, 70,80
~
Students must leave the classroom after exam is finished.
There will be a final exam. All students must take the exam on the scheduled date and time, and failure to do so will result in a 0 on the final exam.
~

Weekly quizzes could be given covering the chapter studied that week. Dates for quizzes are listed on the Course Calendar and on the To do list. There will be no makeups for missed quizzes. Missed quizzes will receive a score of zero.

Announcements
I will post announcements weekly, usually early in the week. These announcements indicate upcoming due dates and notes important to your success in this course. You should READ these Announcements every week. I also recommend using the BlackBoard app on your phone, with notifications, so that you immediately receive notices of new announcements for this class.
~
Classroom Etiquette:
The following behaviors will result in the student being asked during class time to cease the action and/or leave the classroom: using cell phones, talking, or keying while the instructor is giving instructions or during class discussions; leaving class early without informing the instructor; surfing the Internet during lecture; and displaying a rude or negative behavior toward the instructor or other students.
No cell phones should be visible or heard during class. Again, you will be asked to leave the room for the remainder of the class. No blue tooth technology or recording of lectures in any format (unless approved by the instructor). No charging of cell phones in the classroom.
~
E-Mail/Voice Mail Etiquette:
Students must use appropriate e-mail etiquette when corresponding with instructor; for example, complete sentences and a full subject line with your name/course name. Voice mail messages should be clearly spoken identifying students name, course, and any return phone number.

~
To be successful in this course, the student MUST purchase the assigned textbook and log into BlackBoard at least 2-3 times weekly. Regular, reliable access to BlackBoard via Internet is required for this online course. Attendance is monitored via Blackboard reports of logins and interaction with course.
